COMMON ILLNESSES DUE TO POOR INDOOR AIR QUALITY

contaminants Pollen, microbiological agents or organic toxins in the air can result in hypersensitivity pneumonitis, occupational asthma and other respiratory illnesses.

Frequently originating in the ventilation system, these reactions have often been called "Building Related Illnesses." More significant illnesses (eg., Legionnaire's Disease) have been associated with improperly maintained air handling equipment.

The potential hazards vary depending on a variety of conditions, making "Duct Cleaning" a standard mechanical practice.

  • Legionellosis or Legionnaire's Disease (low incidence, pneumonia, high fever)

  • Humidifier Fever (high incidence, mild flu-like symptoms)

  • Pontiac Fever (like humidifier fever, non-pneumonia)

  • Acute hypersensativity reactions & allergies

  • Cryptococcosis (meningoencephalitis, pneumonia, mucus membrane & body organ infection)

  • Asthma

  • Sinusitis
